Saul Black

Saul Black is a renowned author who is best known for his Valerie Hart series of books. Born in 1965 in Bolton, Lancashire, England, Black comes from an Anglo-Indian family. He visited India in 1994 with his father and later traveled to the United States, where he spent several months exploring the country by Amtrak train. These experiences later became the inspiration for his debut novel, Hope, which was published in 1997 to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic.

Black is a pen name used by the critically acclaimed British author Glen Duncan, who is well known for writing thriller, mystery, and horror novels. He studied literature and philosophy at the Exeter and Lancaster universities and began his career as a book-seller in London, where he wrote during his spare time. In 2002, Duncan's novel I, Lucifer, was given a soundtrack by his longtime friend Stephen Coates and the band called The Real Tuesday Weld. This collaboration was repeated again for his other book called The Last Werewolf.

As Glen Duncan, he has written the successful trilogy series called The Last Werewolf. Under the pseudonym of Saul Black, he has penned down the popular novel series, The Valerie Hart series. The first book in this series is The Killing Lessons, which was released in 2015. Black currently resides in London, and his 2002 novel I, Lucifer has had the film rights purchased, with several high-profile actors being considered for roles in the forthcoming movie.
