Scott Hunter

Scott Hunter is a renowned British author, born in Romford, Essex. He began his writing career after winning first prize in the Sunday Express Short Story Competition. In addition to his writing, Hunter is also a talented drummer who has recorded with the internationally acclaimed rock band Jethro Tull and performed with the 70's pop group Mungo Jerry. He is currently working on his fourteenth novel, and his writing has earned him numerous accolades, including being longlisted for the Times/Chicken House Children's Novel Competition for "The Ley Lines of Lushbury" and winning the Sunday Express Short Story Competition for his historical entry set during the English Civil War.

Hunter is perhaps best known for his thriller novels, of which he has written over a dozen, as well as his children's literature and historical fiction. His writing style is characterized by its clarity and straightforwardness, engaging readers on a visceral level and keeping them engaged until the very end. He is passionate about his craft and ensures that each page is filled with action, making his novels both entertaining and compelling. His strong leading characters are one of the reasons for his popularity, as they are engaging and well-developed, adding depth to the storylines.

One of Hunter's most popular series is the DCI Brendan Moran crime series, with "Black December" being the first novel in the series and also released in audiobook format. His second novel, "The Trespass," is a top 20 Amazon Bestseller. He has also been shortlisted for the Crime Writers Association (CWA) Margery Allingham short story competition and was recently selected as the winner of the 2022 CWA Margery Allingham short story competition for his entry "Locked In," which can be read on the CWA Website's Margery Allingham page. He lives in Berkshire with his wife Katherine and his two youngest children.
