Seán Hewitt

Seán Hewitt is an award-winning poet and memoirist whose work explores themes of love, loss, and queer identity. His debut poetry collection, "Tongues of Fire" (2020), won the Laurel Prize in 2021 and was shortlisted for multiple awards, including The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award. His memoir, "All Down Darkness Wide" (2022), earned critical acclaim, winning the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature and receiving nominations for a LAMBDA Award and the RSL Ondaatje Prize. His forthcoming poetry collection, "Rapture's Road," is set for publication in 2024.

Born in 1990, Hewitt has been recognized as one of Ireland's most promising literary voices, named among The Sunday Times' "30 under 30" artists in 2020. His writing blends lyrical precision with emotional depth, often drawing from personal experience and classical influences. In 2023, he collaborated with artist Luke Edward Hall on "300,000 Kisses: Tales of Queer Love from the Ancient World," a celebration of queer narratives from history. Hewitt teaches at Trinity College Dublin and continues to contribute to contemporary Irish literature.
