Seth Dickinson is a speculative fiction writer whose work spans novels, short stories, and video game narratives. Since his 2012 debut, his short fiction has appeared in prominent publications such as "Clarkesworld", "Lightspeed", and "Analog". He gained wider recognition with his first novel, "The Traitor Baru Cormorant", a critically acclaimed work of political fantasy. Beyond traditional publishing, Dickinson has contributed extensively to the lore and worldbuilding of Bungie Studios' "Destiny", a bestselling video game franchise.
Before focusing on writing, Dickinson studied social neuroscience, with research interests ranging from cocoa farming in Ghana to racial bias in police shootings. His academic background often informs his fiction, which explores complex themes of power, identity, and systemic injustice. In addition to his solo projects, he has collaborated on "Blue Planet: War in Heaven", a space opera series. Known for his sharp prose and intricate worldbuilding, Dickinson continues to be a distinctive voice in speculative fiction.
