Seth Harwood is an author known for pioneering the podcast novel format, serializing his debut novel, "JACK WAKES UP," as a free audiobook and amassing over one million downloads for his audio works. He has written seven novels, including the Jack Palms crime series - featuring titles such as "THE MALTESE JORDANS," "EVERYONE PAYS," and "IN BROAD DAYLIGHT" - as well as standalone works like "THIS IS LIFE" and "YOUNG JUNIUS." His literary output also includes two short story collections, "A LONG WAY FROM DISNEY" and "FISHER CAT," and a novella set in the world of Kurt Vonnegut, exploring themes of time travel, writing, and fatherhood.
A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Harwood has held diverse roles, from commodities trading clerk to freelance journalist, before establishing himself as a writer and educator. His teaching career spans institutions such as City College of San Francisco, Stanford Continuing Studies, and Harvard Extension, where he instructs in creative writing and English. His fiction often blends gritty crime narratives with dark humor, earning him the moniker "Digital Dickens" for his innovative approach to serialized storytelling. Currently residing in Massachusetts, Harwood is working on a second installment in his Clara Donner series.
