Sharon Ahern is an American author, born in 1948, who has collaborated with her late husband, Jerry Ahern, to co-author numerous novels in the genres of action-adventure, science fiction, horror, and suspense. The couple's writing partnership resulted in the creation of several series, including "The Takers" and "The Ed Mulvaney Series."
Jerry Ahern was a prolific writer in his own right, having written over eighty internationally published novels and over a thousand magazine articles, columns, features, and interviews. Under the pseudonyms "Axel Kilgore" and "Red Mitchell," he also authored additional works. The Aherns' writing extended to non-fiction as well, with books like "SURVIVE! THE DISASTER, CRISIS AND EMERGENCY HANDBOOK," "THE GUN DIGEST GUIDE TO CONCEALED CARRY HANDGUNS," and "ARMED FOR PERSONAL DEFENSE." Their novel "WRITTEN IN TIME," published by BAEN Books, is a semi-autobiographical time travel science fiction steam punk western.
Following Jerry's passing in 2012, Sharon and fellow writer Bob Anderson continued the "Survivalist" series, which Jerry had worked on up until his death. The latest release in the series, "The Inheritors of Earth," picks up just minutes after the previous book ended, and a new installment is set to follow. Jerry and Sharon, high school sweethearts, were married for 43 years and have two grown children and five grandchildren. The Ahern family has expressed their gratitude for the many kind thoughts and well-wishes from Jerry's fans around the world.
