Sharon Gosling

Sharon Gosling is a respected author who began her career in entertainment journalism. She wrote for magazines that focused on the science fiction and fantasy genre, eventually moving on to write tie-in books for popular TV shows such as "Stargate" and the "Battlestar Galactica" reboot. Gosling's career as a journalist and her passion for science fiction and fantasy set the stage for her future in writing making-of books for film and television.\n \n Gosling's non-fiction making-of books include "The Art and Making of Penny Dreadful" and "Wonder Woman: The Art and Making of the Film." After gaining experience in writing non-fiction, Gosling began writing both children's and adult fiction. Her first novel, "The Diamond Thief," was a Victorian-set steampunk adventure book for the middle grade age group. This novel won the Redbridge Children's prize in 2014, and Gosling went on to write two more books in the series.\n \n In addition to her adventure books, Gosling has also written horror stories for adults. "FIR," a YA horror novel, was shortlisted for the Lancashire Book of the Year Award in 2018. Gosling's debut adult novel, "The House Beneath the Cliffs," will be published by Simon & Schuster in August 2021. This novel is a departure from her previous work, focusing on a small coastal village in Scotland and exploring themes of community and belonging.\n \n Gosling was born in Kent but now resides in a small village in northern Cumbria with her husband. Her husband owns a bookshop in the nearby market town of Penrith. Gosling's love for unusual dwelling places and small communities is evident in her writing, making her a unique and captivating voice in contemporary literature.
