Sharon Pape

Sharon Pape is a well-known American author, renowned for her work in the paranormal and mystery genres. From a young age, Pape discovered her passion for writing. She began writing as soon as she learned how to read and write in the first grade, and by grade seven, she had already written her first novel. Her love for literature extended to playwriting, as she would create little plays for her friends to perform for family and friends. During her college years, Pape studied to become a high school teacher and taught Spanish and French while continuing to write poetry on the side.

After leaving teaching to become a full-time mom, Pape returned to writing when her children started school. Her first novel, Ghostfire, was published, and she continued to write, publishing several books, including The God Children and The Portal. Pape's writing has been recognized by Redbook magazine, which published her first short story, and subsequently sold it to several foreign magazines. With a loving husband, two children, and a golden retriever, Pape felt like she was living the life she was meant to lead. However, fate had other plans, and Pape was diagnosed with breast cancer.

After her recovery, Pape wanted to help other women who were newly diagnosed, worried, and afraid. She became a Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society and went on to run the program for Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. Pape then started Lean On Me, a nonprofit organization that provides peer support and information to breast cancer patients. When Lean On Me celebrated its tenth anniversary, Pape once again found herself free to pursue her first love - writing.

Pape has been writing for many years, even before computers and Amazon were around. Her first book was published by PocketBooks and condensed in Redbook Magazine. She has since reissued that book as For Everything a Season. Pape has written a total of thirteen books, mostly cozies. There are four books in her Portrait of Crime series for Berkley and four in her Abracadabra series for Kensington, the fourth of which was released in April 2019. A fifth book in the Abracadabra series is set to be released next year.
