Sheena Dempsey

Sheena Dempsey is an Irish author and illustrator specializing in children's literature. She has illustrated over thirty books since 2013, including her debut picture book "Bye-Bye Baby Brother!" and the graphic novel series "Pablo and Splash," which follows time-traveling penguins. Her collaborative works include illustrating "Dave Pigeon" by Swapna Haddow, "Yoga Babies" by Fearne Cotton, and "The Magic Moment" by Niall Breslin.

Dempsey studied fine art at Ireland’s National College of Art and Design before earning a BA in illustration from Kingston University in London. Her work has been recognized with nominations and awards such as the An Post Irish Book Awards, Sainsbury's Children's Book Awards, and Sheffield Book Awards. Known for her vibrant and engaging illustrations, she brings humor and warmth to stories for young readers.

Currently residing in Folkestone, Kent, with her husband and their greyhound, Dempsey continues to create imaginative and visually captivating books for children. Her most recent project, "Pablo and Splash," marks her first foray into graphic novels, showcasing her versatility as both an author and illustrator.
