Sheila Quigley

Sheila Quigley is a British author best known for her gripping thriller series, including "Seahills" and "Holy Island Trinity." Her novels draw inspiration from the North East of England, particularly the Sunderland area where she has lived throughout her life. Quigley's works are celebrated for their authentic regional settings and suspenseful storytelling, earning her a dedicated readership in the crime fiction genre.

Born in Sunderland on July 28, 1947, Quigley began working at age 15 as a presser in a tailoring factory. She married at 18 and raised four children—three daughters and a son—before her divorce. Now a grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of two, she remains deeply connected to her community, often attending local football matches. For three decades, Quigley has resided on the Homelands Estate in Houghton-le-Spring, where she continues to draw from her surroundings for her writing.
