Sheridan Hay

Sheridan Hay is an Australian-born author and educator known for her literary fiction. Her debut novel, "The Secret of Lost Things," garnered critical acclaim, earning recognition as a Booksense Pick, a Barnes & Noble Discover selection, and a San Francisco Chronicle bestseller. The novel was also shortlisted for the Borders Original Voices Fiction Prize and named a New York Times Editor's Choice, with translation rights sold to thirteen countries.

Hay has a distinguished background in both publishing and academia. After moving to New York at 27, she spent years working in bookstores, including the Strand, and in trade publishing. She holds an MFA in Writing and Literature from Bennington College and currently teaches writing in the graduate program at Parsons School of Design at The New School. Her work often reflects her deep engagement with literature and the publishing world.

Hay continues to write while balancing her teaching career. She is married with two children and is currently working on her next book.
