Shirlee Busbee is a renowned author from the United States, who has made a significant name for herself in the realm of historical fiction, contemporary, and romance novels. Born as Shirlee Elaine on August 9, 1941, in San Jose, California, Busbee was the eldest among three brothers and two sisters. Her father's career as a naval officer allowed the family to travel to different places in the world, providing her with a diverse and rich cultural background. She completed her schooling in Kenitra, Morocco, and later attended Burbank Business College in California. It was there that she met her loving husband, Howard Busbee, whom she married in 1963, one year after graduating.

In addition to her successful writing career, Busbee has also held various jobs, including working as a receptionist for the Marin County Title and Abstract Co., as a plant supervisor for Fairfield Title Co., and as a secretary and drafting technician for the County Parks Department of Fairfield, California. It was during this time that she met her life-long friend and mentor, Rosemary Rogers. Busbee's literary career took off in 1977 with the publication of her first novel, Gypsy Lady, which was an instant success. Since then, she has published over 18 novels, including seven New York Times bestsellers.
