Simon Conway is a former British Army officer and international aid worker who has dedicated his career to addressing the dangerous and often deadly remnants of war. After serving in the military, Conway turned his attention to humanitarian work, clearing landmines and unexploded bombs in post-conflict regions of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. His expertise in this field led him to become the Co-Chair of the Cluster Munition Coalition, where he played a pivotal role in achieving an international ban on cluster bombs.

In addition to his humanitarian work, Conway is also an accomplished author. He has written seven novels, including the 2010 Ian Fleming Steel Dagger winner "A Loyal Spy." His writing is informed by his personal experiences and knowledge of international affairs, providing readers with a unique and authentic perspective. Conway's commitment to his craft is evident in his meticulous research and attention to detail.

Currently, Conway works for The HALO Trust, where he leads the organization's efforts to address urban conflict in the Middle East. His work with The HALO Trust involves starting new projects in conflict-affected countries and continuing his mission to make the world a safer place. Despite his many accomplishments, Conway remains humble and dedicated to his work. He lives in Glasgow with his wife, the journalist and broadcaster Sarah Smith, and their two daughters.
