Sonja Yoerg

Sonja Yoerg is a accomplished author, having published several novels to her name. She grew up in Stowe, Vermont, the daughter of a ski instructor and a history teacher. After financing her college education by waitressing at the Trapp Family Lodge, she went on to earn her Ph.D. in Biological Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. Here, she studied learning in animals such as blue jays, kangaroo rats, and spotted hyenas, and later published a non-fiction book about animal intelligence titled "Clever as a Fox" (Bloomsbury USA, 2001).

In her second career as a novelist, Sonja has published five novels, including "True Places," a Washington Post and Amazon Charts bestseller, and "The Family Ship," which received a starred review from Publishers Weekly and was released in February 2021. She currently resides in central Virginia with her husband, where they enjoy a quiet and pretty view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In her spare time, Sonja enjoys running, gardening, cooking, and drinking wine.
