Sophia Bennett

Sophia Bennett is a British author known for her young adult fiction centered on themes of self-discovery and empowerment. She gained recognition after winning the Times/Chicken House Fiction competition in 2009 with her debut novel, "Threads," which explores London's fashion scene. The success of "Threads" led to two sequels, published in 2010 and 2011, and the series has since been translated into nearly 20 languages. Her other notable works include "The Look," "You Don't Know Me," "The Castle," and "Love Song," as well as the historical "Ophelia" series.

Bennett's writing often features protagonists who uncover their inner strength, whether through creative pursuits like fashion design or music, or through more adventurous roles such as espionage. Her stories blend contemporary settings with social consciousness, resonating with teen readers worldwide. Beyond her fiction, she has contributed essays on female artists for Tate, reflecting her passion for art.

As an educator, Bennett has shared her expertise through roles as a visiting lecturer at City University and City Lit, and as a Consultant Fellow of the Royal Literary Fund. She continues to write and inspire aspiring authors from her home in London.
