Sophie Ranald is a successful author of romantic comedies, born in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa. She was the youngest of five sisters and developed her fiction-writing skills while working as an editor for a customer publishing agency. Sophie would describe holidays to places she had never visited, which honed her ability to create vivid and engaging settings in her writing.
In her mid-20s, Sophie moved to London, where she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time writer in 2011. After one unsuccessful attempt, she wrote "It Would Be Wrong to Steal My Sister’s Boyfriend (Wouldn’t It?)," which became a hit. Since then, Sophie has written over a dozen romantic comedies, including the bestseller "Sorry Not Sorry." Her books have sold nearly a million copies, are frequently featured on bestseller lists, and have been translated into five languages.
Aside from writing, Sophie also contributes to magazines and online publications about food, fashion, and running. She is an avid runner and enjoys lifting weights at the gym, as well as mixing the perfect dry martini. Sophie currently resides in South East London with her partner and two adorable cats. Her life experiences, sense of humor, and keen observations of the world around her continue to inspire her writing and endear her to readers worldwide.
