Spider Robinson is a highly acclaimed science fiction author, best known for his Callahan series of books. Born in New York City in 1948, Robinson spent his formative years in the Bronx and received his education in Catholic schools, including a seminary and a Catholic college.
After his early education, Robinson's writing career took off in 1972 with a sale to Analog Science Fiction magazine of a story titled, "The Guy With The Eyes." This marked the beginning of a prolific writing career, with Robinson publishing his first novel, "Telempath," just four years later. Since then, he has maintained a steady output of one novel (or collection) per year, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the science fiction genre.
Robinson's writing has been widely recognized and honored with numerous awards, including both Hugo and Nebula awards. In 2002, he became a Canadian citizen, having lived in Canada for the majority of his life. His most popular works are the Callahan saloon series, which have captivated readers with their unique blend of science fiction and humor. Overall, Spider Robinson's contributions to the science fiction genre have solidified his place as a respected and celebrated author.
