Stephanie Bishop

Stephanie Bishop is an award-winning Australian novelist and critic known for her evocative literary fiction. She has published four novels to date: "The Singing" (2005), "The Other Side of the World" (2015), "Man Out of Time" (2018), and "The Anniversary" (2023). Her work has earned prestigious accolades including The Readings Prize for New Australian Writing and the Literary Fiction Book of the Year Award, along with shortlistings for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards, the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction, and the Stella Prize. In 2006, she was recognized as one of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Best Young Novelists.

Bishop’s writing explores complex emotional landscapes and human relationships with lyrical precision. Her essays and fiction have appeared in distinguished publications such as the London Review of Books, the Times Literary Supplement, The Monthly, and the Sydney Review of Books. With a PhD from Cambridge University, she has held fellowships at Oxford University’s Centre for Life Writing, Yaddo, Tenjinyama Art Studio, and Himachal Pradesh University. Her novels have been translated into four languages, reflecting her international literary appeal.
