Stephen Moss

Stephen Moss is a naturalist, broadcaster, and author, best known for his science fiction and thriller novels. Born in London, Moss has lived in various parts of the world, including Malaysia, Kenya, Belgium, Brazil, and Botswana, before settling in New York. His travels have significantly influenced his writing, providing him with a wealth of experiences to draw upon. Among his literary inspirations are authors such as F Hamilton, Orson Scott Card, and Iain Banks, who are renowned for their fantastic fiction works.

Moss's debut fiction novel, "Fear the Sky," was published in 2014, and is the first in the "Fear Saga" series. The novel combines his passion for travel and science fiction, taking readers across the globe from London to Brussels, the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan, to the back streets of Tel Aviv. Moss's meticulous research and attention to detail ensure that the settings for his stories are as realistic and authentic as possible. He has since published two more books in the series, "Fear the Survivors" and "Fear's Orphans," with more titles in the pipeline.

In addition to his science fiction novels, Moss has also written over thirty nonfiction books on wildlife and birds. He has been featured in numerous publications, including "BBC Wildlife," "The Mail," and "The Guardian." In 2017, he was shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize for Outdoor Writing.
