Stephenie Meyer is a highly successful American novelist and film producer, best known for her Twilight Saga series. Meyer's journey to becoming one of the most influential authors of her time began on June 2, 2003, when she had a vivid dream that inspired her to start writing. This led to the creation of her first novel, Twilight, which was published in 2005 and quickly became a sensation. The book debuted at #5 on The New York Times bestseller list and received numerous accolades, including being named an "ALA Top Ten Books for Young Adults" and an Amazon.com "Best Book of the Decade So Far."
Within three years of writing her first book, Twilight had already been adapted into a major motion picture that grossed $400 million. The next two books in the series, New Moon and Eclipse, were also adapted into films, each making about $700 million. Meyer's Twilight series, a romantic story about a human teenager's love affair with a vampire, captured people's imagination in print and on the big screen.
Stephenie Meyer is not only a bestselling author in the United States but also one of the most read contemporary authors worldwide. She was the bestselling author in the United States for both 2008 and 2009, and made Time's 2008 List of Most Influential People at #49, as well as being featured on the Forbes' Celebrity 100' list in 2009 at #26. Meyer's novels have sold millions of copies worldwide, and she earns approximately $50 million annually, with a net worth of $125 million.
Meyer graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English Literature and currently resides in Arizona with her husband and three sons. In addition to the Twilight Saga, Meyer is also the author of The Host and The Chemist, further solidifying her place as a prominent figure in contemporary literature.
