Steve Moore

Steve Moore is a highly regarded American author, particularly known for his funny and inventive stories for younger readers. He has written numerous children's books and has also created many well-known comics. Moore's work is appreciated not only in the United States but also internationally, as he brings a wide range of topics to the forefront in his writing. His approach to writing is straightforward and to-the-point, allowing him to get straight to the heart of what he wants to say.

In addition to his work as an author, Moore is also a syndicated cartoonist, film creator, producer, and former news executive. He created the popular comic "In the Bleachers," which was distributed to hundreds of newspapers and websites. Moore has also worked as the Executive News Editor for the Los Angeles Times. His experience in the news industry has given him a unique perspective that he brings to his writing and cartooning.

Moore has also had success in the film industry, having co-created and written the original story for the animated film "Open Season" by Sony Pictures Animation. He served as Executive Producer for the film, which grossed nearly $200 million at the box office. The franchise has since generated four DVD sequels. Moore also created the animated film "Alpha & Omega" for Lionsgate Films, for which he wrote the original story, screenplay, and served as Producer. The franchise has generated seven DVD sequels.

Moore grew up in La Canada Flintridge, California, and attended Oregon State University, where he completed his undergraduate degree. He then went on to complete his master's degree in Journalism and Communications at the University of Oregon. In 2014, Moore was appointed Professor of the Practice at Boise State University. He has three grown children and currently resides in Oregon with his partner, Melaine, a parrot named Ulu, and a gopher snake named Tiny Fey. Unfortunately, due to Essential Tremor, a neurological disability that causes shaking in the hands, Moore reluctantly had to hand off his Bleachers comic in 2017.
