Steve Zell is an author, animator, and creative professional known for blending his diverse artistic background into his storytelling. His debut novel, "WiZrD," draws inspiration from his childhood explorations of ghost towns, combining the settings of Jerome, Arizona, Tombstone, and Bodi, California, into the fictional Pinon Rim. Another work, "Running Cold," is set in Del Mar, California, reflecting his family's summer trips there during the 1960s.
Before pursuing writing, Zell established a multifaceted career in animation and digital media, working as an instructor for Los Angeles-area animation and visual effects studios. His vocal talents earned him the moniker "Voice of Doom" for the television series "Baywatch." A graduate of the University of Arizona, he was the first interdisciplinary studies student there, focusing on studio art, vocal production, drama, journalism, and chemistry. His early involvement with the Tucson Invisible Theatre Company and his role as cartoonist for "The Tombstone Epitaph" further showcase his artistic versatility.
Now based in Portland, Oregon, Zell continues to engage in creative endeavors, including community theater and collaborations in the tech and entertainment industries. His work with Intel and DreamWorks SKG, as well as his founding role in the Intel Audio Alliance, highlights his intersection of art and technology.
