Stewart O'Nan

Stewart O'Nan is an accomplished American author, well-known for his numerous novels and collaborations with notable authors such as Stephen King. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on February 4, 1961, O'Nan grew up in his beloved hometown, which continues to serve as the backdrop for many of his works.

Prior to his writing career, O'Nan pursued a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at Boston University, where he developed a passion for the Boston Red Sox. After graduating in 1983, he worked as a test engineer at Grumman Aerospace Corporation until 1988. It was during his time in Boston that his enthusiasm for the Red Sox took root, an interest that would later inspire some of his writing. In 1984, O'Nan married his high school sweetheart, Trudy Anne Southwick, further solidifying his connections to his past.

O'Nan has written eighteen novels, including critically acclaimed works like "Emily, Alone"; "Last Night at the Lobster"; "A Prayer for the Dying"; and "Snow Angels". His fiction has earned him a place among Granta's list of America's Best Young Novelists. His collaboration with Stephen King, "Faithful," is a nonfiction account of the 2004 Boston Red Sox, while "A Face in the Crowd" is an e-story they co-wrote. O'Nan's ability to weave compelling narratives has earned him a loyal following and critical acclaim. His forthcoming novel, "Ocean State," is set to be released by Grove/Atlantic on March 8, 2022.
