Stig Abell

Stig Abell is an English journalist, author, newspaper editor, and radio presenter known for his contributions to literary criticism and media. He has held prominent editorial roles, including serving as editor of "The Times Literary Supplement" from 2016 to 2020 and managing editor of "The Sun" from 2013 to 2016. Abell has also worked as a fiction reviewer for "The Spectator", "Telegraph Media Group", and "The Times Literary Supplement", establishing himself as a respected voice in literary analysis.

Educated at Loughborough Grammar School before earning a double first in English from Emmanuel College, Cambridge, Abell began his career at the Press Complaints Commission, eventually becoming its director. His transition into journalism saw him co-presenting shows on LBC Radio and later hosting his own program. In 2020, he joined Times Radio as a co-presenter of the breakfast show. While his editorial decisions, such as publishing controversial commentary, have drawn criticism, his influence in both literary and broadcast media remains significant.
