Stuart Maconie

Stuart Maconie is a highly accomplished journalist, radio and TV presenter, columnist, and author. He is widely recognized for his expertise in various fields, particularly in travel writing, music, and popular culture. Maconie has established himself as the UK’s best-selling travel writer of non-TV tie-in books, with his work often compared to that of Bill Bryson, Alan Bennett, and John Peel. The Times has even described him as a ‘National Treasure.’

One of Maconie’s most popular books is ‘Pies and Prejudice,’ which was a top-selling paperback in 2008. He currently co-hosts the Radcliffe and Maconie Show on BBC Radio 2 every Monday to Thursday evening, as well as The Freak Zone on 6Music on Sunday afternoons. Maconie has written and presented numerous other shows on BBC Radio and has also made appearances on popular TV series such as Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and various shows in the BBC's I love the... series.

In addition to his work in radio and television, Maconie has also written official biographies of the bands Blur and James.
