Susan Elia MacNeal is a distinguished American author, celebrated for her historical mystery novels. Raised in Buffalo, New York, MacNeal attended Nardin Academy, an all-girls Catholic school, before matriculating at Wellesley College, where she majored in English and cross-registered for classes at MIT. After graduating cum laude with departmental honors in English Literature, MacNeal went on to attend the Radcliffe Publishing Course at Harvard University.

\nMacNeal is perhaps best known for her New York Times bestselling Maggie Hope mystery series, which includes acclaimed titles such as Mr. Churchill's Secretary, Princess Elizabeth's Spy, and His Majesty's Hope. The series, which has been translated into multiple languages and sold worldwide, has been nominated for several awards, including the Edgar, Macavity, ITW Thriller, Barry, Dilys, Sue Federer Historical Fiction, and Bruce Alexander Historical Fiction awards. Warner Bros. holds the TV rights to the series.
