Susan Francis

Susan Francis is an emerging Australian writer whose work spans memoir and fiction. Her debut memoir, "The Love that Remains," published by Allen & Unwin in 2020, garnered praise for its raw and honest portrayal of personal experiences. Her forthcoming novel, "Revelation Beach," set for release in October 2025, was developed with support from an ASA mentorship and a Neilma Sidney Travel Scholarship.

Francis holds a Master of Letters in Australian Literature and has a background as a high school English teacher. Her writing is characterized by its fearless exploration of complex themes, often drawing from her diverse life experiences. Having lived in Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and Spain, she incorporates a global perspective into her work. Currently residing in Newcastle, she writes full-time and is researching her next project—a crime thriller inspired by the Indonesian military’s execution of the Balibo Five, which will take her to Timor for further study.
