Sybil Nelson

Sybil Nelson is an accomplished author and educator known for her engaging science fiction novels for children and adults. She has written twelve novels, including the popular "Priscilla the Great" series and the inventive retelling "Pride and Prejudice in Space." Under the pen name Leslie DuBois, she also explores historical and contemporary fiction, showcasing her versatility across genres.

Nelson balances her writing career with her academic pursuits, serving as a professor of Mathematics at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. Her background in STEM informs her imaginative storytelling, particularly in her science fiction works, which blend humor and creativity. She currently resides in Charleston, SC, with her husband and two daughters while pursuing a PhD at the Medical University of South Carolina.
