Sydney Landon is an American novelist, well-known for her popular contemporary romances, particularly the Danvers series. Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, Landon spent twenty-five years working as an accountant before deciding to follow her passion for writing. In 2000, she met her husband, a computer geek, who proposed to her in a romantic setting on Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This location would later become the setting for many of her novels. Together, they have two children and reside in South Carolina.
Prior to becoming a full-time author, Landon had always loved writing and began working on her first novel, "Weekends Required," while still employed as an accountant. She became so engrossed in her characters that she decided to pursue writing as a career. Her husband's calm and rational nature, as well as his understanding of her need for new shoes every few weeks, helped her to maintain balance in her life. Landon's two children, although described as "borderline insane," also contribute to the interesting dynamics of her home life.
The idea for the Danvers series came to Landon and refused to leave, leading her to write her first book, "Weekends Required." The novel quickly became a best-seller on Amazon and made the New York Times Best Seller List. She followed up with "Not Planning on You," which also became a best-seller. The third book in the series, "Fall For Me," was released in February 2013 and became a New York Times Best Seller. Landon is currently working on the fifth book in the Danvers’ Series. When she's not writing, she enjoys reading, swimming, and being a soccer mom.
