Sylvia Engdahl

Sylvia Engdahl is a respected American author, best known for her science fiction novels which are enjoyed by both young adults and adults alike. Engdahl has written a total of eleven science fiction novels, with six of those being young adult books. Her novel "Enchantress from the Stars" was recognized with a Newbery Honor in 1971. In addition to her fiction works, Engdahl is also a passionate advocate for space colonization, maintaining a space section on her personal website and a separate website dedicated to space quotes.

Engdahl's writing spans both young adult and adult audiences, with her earlier works being more accessible to younger readers while her more recent novels are intended for a mature audience. Her most recent works include the "Founders of Maclairn" duology, consisting of "Stewards of the Flame" and "Promise of the Flame," as well as the "Captain of Estel" trilogy, featuring "Defender of the Flame," "Herald of the Flame," and "Envoy of the Flame."
