T.C. Boyle

Τ. Coraghessan Boyle, also known as T.C. Boyle, is a renowned American novelist and short story writer. He was born on December 2, 1948, in Peekskill, New York, and grew up in a small town near the Hudson Valley, which he often fictionalizes in his works as Peterskill. When he was seventeen, he changed his middle name to Coraghessan from John, and has since used it in all his records.

Boyle started his writing career in the mid-1970s and has since written around fourteen novels and over 100 short stories. His works are known for their common themes of baby boomers, satire, realism, and anti-heroes, set in various locations across the United States and other countries, with California being a frequent setting. One of his notable novels, "World's End," won him the PEN/Faulkner award in 1988, which accounts for 300 years in upstate New York. This novel's success helped establish Boyle's reputation as a noteworthy author in the literary world.

T. Coraghessan Boyle is a Distinguished Professor of English at the University of Southern California, where he founded the undergraduate creative writing program in 1978. He has published eighteen novels and twelve collections of short stories, with his works widely anthologized and recognized for their unique storytelling and engaging characters. Despite his success, Boyle remains a private individual, keeping a low profile and focusing on his writing and teaching.
