T. Jefferson Parker

T. Jefferson Parker is a highly acclaimed American novelist, best known for his police procedural novels. He was born in Los Angeles, California, and spent his formative years in Southern California, which serves as the backdrop for many of his novels. Parker's books often feature a single protagonist and may include perspectives from the antagonist's viewpoint.

Parker was educated in public schools in the Orange County of California and completed his English bachelor's degree from the California University in Irvine in 1976. He was recognized as the most Distinguished Alumnus in 1992. Parker's writing career began in 1978 when he became a junior reporter in a weekly newspaper named Newport Ensign. During his time at the Ensign, he covered various police matters, city hall proceedings, and cultural subjects for the paper. Parker then moved to the Daily Pilot, where he received three awards from the Press-Club for his articles. It was during his journalistic career that Parker gathered material and information for his first book.

Parker is the author of 28 crime novels, including the Edgar Award-winning novels "Silent Joe" and "California Girl." His latest work, "The Rescue," explores the strength of the human-animal bond and the lengths to which we will go to protect what we love. Parker's writing is highly regarded, and he has won numerous awards for his work.

Parker currently resides in a small town in north San Diego County with his family. He enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and beachcombing. Parker's love for the outdoors is often reflected in his writing, with many of his novels featuring scenic descriptions of Southern California's natural beauty. Despite his success as a novelist, Parker remains a humble and down-to-earth individual, with a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.
