Tade Thompson

Tade Thompson is a highly acclaimed author, best known for his science fiction novels. He was born in London to Yoruba parents, which has greatly influenced his writing. Thompson's work often incorporates elements of his Nigerian heritage, providing a unique perspective within the science fiction genre.

Thompson is not only an author but also a practicing psychiatrist. This background in the medical field has lent a sense of realism and depth to his characters and storytelling. His ability to combine his medical knowledge with his creative imagination has resulted in compelling and thought-provoking narratives.

Some of Thompson's most notable works include "The Wormwood Trilogy," which includes "Rosewater," "Rosewater Redemption," and "Rosewater Insurrection." This series has won several awards, including the 2019 Arthur C. Clarke Award, the Nommo Awards, and has been nominated for the Philip K. Dick Award and the British Science Fiction Association Award. Additionally, his "Molly Southbourne" books, including "Making Wolf," have also received critical acclaim, winning the Golden Tentacle Award and the Prix Julia-Verlanger, among others.

Thompson's recent publications include "Far from the Light of Heaven" (2021) and "Jackdaw" (2022). Several of his works have been optioned for screen adaptation, including the short story "The Apologists." Despite his success, Thompson remains humble, living and working on the south coast of England, where he continues to battle an addiction to books.
