Tamara Ireland Stone is a successful young adult and contemporary fiction author, best known for her "Time Between Us" series. Before transitioning to writing, Stone spent nearly two decades in the technology industry, providing communications and marketing strategy services to various companies, including Zendesk and Apple. She was a manager at Niehaus Ryan Wong, where she managed some of their largest accounts and worked on the launch of the iMac, giving her the opportunity to collaborate with Steve Jobs during his return to Apple.
Stone's journey into writing began when she decided to pursue a career in children's and young adult fiction after growing tired of her first career. She has found this new path especially rewarding. Her novel "Every Last Word" became a New York Times bestseller and won several awards, including the Cybils Young Adult Fiction Award, the Georgia Peach Book Award, and was shortlisted for the Northern California Book Award. "Little Do We Know" won the NCIBA Golden Poppy Award for Young Adult Fiction, and her debut novel, "Time Between Us," has been published in over twenty languages. Additionally, her middle-grade series, "Click'd," has gained recognition as a Sunshine State Young Readers Award pick, a Kids' Indie Next pick, a Truman Award Nominee, and an NCIBA Golden Poppy nominee.
Despite her success in writing, Stone remains humble and embraces her quirks, describing herself as a proud nerd, vinyl collector, and movie lover. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area and, despite her culinary shortcomings, continues to burn everything she cooks.
