Tanaz Bhathena is a critically acclaimed author, known for her work in young adult fiction. She was born in Mumbai, India, and spent her childhood in Saudi Arabia, specifically in Jedda and Riyadh. When she was sixteen, her family relocated to Canada, which is where she currently resides with her family in Mississauga, Ontario.
Bhathena's love for reading and writing began at a young age, and by the time she was thirteen, she had decided to pursue a career as a professional author. Her debut novel, "A Girl Like That," was published in 2018 and was met with widespread critical acclaim. The novel was named a Best Book of the Year by several publications, including "The Times of India," "The Globe and Mail," and "Seventeen." Her subsequent novels, "The Beauty of the Moment" and "Hunted by the Sky," have also been well-received, with "The Beauty of the Moment" winning the Nautilus Gold Award for Young Adult Fiction.
In addition to her work in young adult fiction, Bhathena is also an accomplished author of fantasy and contemporary fiction. Her novel "Hunted by the Sky" won the Ontario Library Association’s White Pine Award and the Bapsi Sidhwa Literary Prize. She is also the author of "Of Light and Shadow," and her short fiction has been featured in various publications, such as "Room," "The Hindu," "Witness," and "Blackbird."
