Tara K. Harper is a highly accomplished fantasy author, best known for her series "Wolfwalker" and "Cat Scratch." She has been a professional writer since her teenage years, having worked as a ghostwriter of dissertations and theses while still in high school. After college, she held various positions in the writing and editing field, including a stint as an Artist in Residence. Despite writing her first fantasy and science fiction manuscripts during this time, she did not consider publishing them as she felt she was not good enough.
It was only after much persuasion from a friend that Harper decided to pursue publishing. She found an agent and wrote a query letter, leading to a contract with a major publishing house. Her debut novel, "Wolfwalker," became a bestseller and established her reputation in the science fiction and fantasy world. Since then, she has published over ten science fiction novels, several of which have become national bestsellers.
Harper's "Cat Scratch Fever," the first book in the "Cat Scratch" series, was shortlisted for the Oregon Book Awards. She is a member of the Author's Guild and continues to write, drawing on her years of experience and success in the industry. Despite her achievements, Harper remains humble about her success, attributing it to a combination of the right protagonist, story, and luck.
