Tara Laskowski is an accomplished American author, best known for her suspense novels and short story collections. She was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania and went on to earn her MFA in creative writing from George Mason University and a BA in English with a writing minor from Susquehanna University.
Laskowski's debut novel, One Night Gone, was a critically acclaimed success, earning her the Agatha Award for Best First Novel in 2019. The book was also a finalist for several other prestigious awards, including the Mary Higgins Clark Award, Library of Virginia Award, Strand Award, and Lefty Award. Her other novels include The Weekend Retreat and The Mother Next Door.
In addition to her novels, Laskowski has written two short story collections, Modern Manners for Your Inner Demons and Bystanders. Her short fiction has won numerous awards, including the Agatha Award and the Thriller Award. She is also the longtime editor of the online flash fiction journal SmokeLong Quarterly.
