Tara Sullivan

Tara Sullivan is an award-winning author of Young Adult novels that explore contemporary human rights issues through compelling narratives. Her debut novel, "Golden Boy," received the 2014 Notable Social Studies Trade Books for Young People Award and was named a best book of the year by YALSA, Kirkus Reviews, and The Wall Street Journal. Her second novel, "The Bitter Side of Sweet," earned the 2017 Children’s Africana Book Award Honor and was recognized as an ALSC Notable Children’s Book.

Drawing from her multicultural upbringing across India, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Bolivia, and the Dominican Republic, Sullivan infuses her writing with authentic perspectives on global injustices. She holds a BA in Spanish literature and cognitive science from the University of Virginia, as well as an MA/MPA in Latin American studies and nonprofit management from Indiana University. Her works, including her latest novel, "Treasure of the World," continue to shed light on pressing social issues while engaging young readers with powerful storytelling. Sullivan currently resides in Massachusetts, where she continues to write impactful fiction for young adults.
