Ted Haynes

Ted Haynes is the author of the Northwest Murder Mystery series, which includes "Pole Pedal Murder," "The Mt. Bachelor Murders," "The Mirror Pond Murders," and "Suspects." His standalone works include the novel "The Dot.com Terrorist" and the short story collection "On the Road from Burns." Haynes also co-authored "Vandevert – The Hundred Year History of a Central Oregon Ranch," showcasing his versatility across fiction and nonfiction. His writing often explores crime and mystery set against the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest.

Haynes honed his craft through fiction writing programs at Dartmouth College, UC Berkeley, and Stanford University. His deep connection to Central Oregon, where he first visited in 1975, influences his work, particularly in his vivid depictions of the region's landscapes and communities. He and his wife built a log house on the Little Deschutes River, where they spend summers immersed in the setting that inspires much of his writing.
