Terri Blackstock is a successful American author, well-known for her romance and mystery/suspense novels in the Christian market. Born in 1957 in Belleville, Illinois, Blackstock's family moved to Mississippi when she was eleven years old, where she completed her schooling and attended junior college. From a young age, Blackstock was an avid reader and excellent student, often spending her free time at the library. She went on to Northeast Louisiana University to complete her Bachelor's degree.
Blackstock's writing career took off in 1983 when she wrote her first book, and she spent the following twelve years writing romance novels under two pseudonyms for publishers such as HarperCollins, Harlequin, Dell, and Silhouette. However, in 1994, Blackstock had a spiritual awakening that led her to switch gears and start writing for the Christian market. She wanted to create thrilling novels with an added faith element, hoping to find her niche among readers who enjoyed both genres. Her goal was to entertain her readers while challenging them to think and grow, reminding them that they are valued by God and that their trials have a purpose.
Blackstock's new direction proved to be successful, and she quickly sold a four-book series to Zondervan. Since then, she has written over thirty Christian titles, most of them suspense novels. She has become a New York Times best-seller, with over seven million books sold worldwide. Blackstock has appeared on national television programs such as "The 700 Club" and "Home Life" and has been a guest on numerous radio programs across the country. Her personal journey has been featured in various books, including Touched By the Savior by Mike Yorkey, True Stories of Answered Prayer by Mike Nappa, Faces of Faith by John Hanna, and I Saw Him In Your Eyes by Ace Collins.
