Terry Lynn Johnson is a renowned Canadian author, celebrated for her children's books and middle-grade adventure novels. She is best known for her Survivor Diaries book series, as well as several standalone books. Johnson's writing is heavily influenced by her personal experiences while living in Canada's northern Ontario region. Her stories often feature dogs or a team of dogs, which she incorporates to describe exciting adventures.
Johnson's love for adventure is reflected in her work, as she draws from her own experiences to create engaging stories. In the past, she has owned 18 Alaskan huskies, which have served as the inspiration for many of her characters. Currently, she has one border collie as her adventure companion. Prior to her writing career, Johnson worked for 12 years as a canoeing ranger in Quetico Wilderness Park's backcountry. This role required her to clear portages on 10-day canoe trips, providing her with a wealth of knowledge and experience that she would later incorporate into her writing.
In addition to her writing, Johnson works as a Conservation Officer (Game Warden) in Whitefish Falls, Ontario. This role allows her to continue to engage with the outdoors and animals, providing her with further inspiration for her work. Johnson is represented by Caryn Wiseman of the Andrea Brown Literary Agency. She has published several successful books, including "Ice Dogs," "Sled Dog School," "Falcon Wild," and "Survivor Diaries," among others. Johnson currently resides in Whitefish Falls, Ontario.
