Terry Mixon

Terry Mixon is a successful science fiction author, best known for his "Empire of Bones Saga" series. Born and raised in Texas, Mixon has always been fascinated by the science fiction genre. He currently works as computer support for flight controllers at the Mission Control Center at the Johnson Space Center, ensuring that the people supporting manned space flights have everything they need to monitor the critical aspects of the operation of the International Space Station.

Prior to his work at the Space Center, Mixon served in the US Army as a non-commissioned officer during the 1980s. As a member of the 101st Airborne, he was a scout and helicopter crew chief of the hunter-killer teams, responsible for flying and performing maintenance for the helicopter that found targets for the aircraft. Unlike many authors who know they are destined for a career in writing from a young age, Mixon decided to become a professional author very late in life. It was not until he was in his forties that he began writing, having been a voracious reader before that. His decision to become a writer was motivated by his frustration with bad novels and his belief that he could do better.

Mixon published his debut novel "Empire of Bones," the first book in the "Empire of Bones Saga," in 2014 and has been publishing since. He currently lives in Texas with his wife and a pounce of cats, and writes full-time. His work is well-regarded in the military science fiction genre, with his books often reaching the top of the bestseller lists.
