Thomas Benigno

Thomas Benigno is an American author and lawyer, best known for his legal thriller series, The Good Lawyer. Benigno is a practicing lawyer who graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and currently resides in Long Island, New York. He was one of the top students in his class and was made Associate Attorney early in his career, after being recommended by his New York Legal Aid Society Law Professor, Barry Scheck.

During his time as an Associate Attorney, Benigno took on some of the most complex and high-profile cases, including representing the infamous "Spiderman Rapist". Despite the nature of the cases he worked on, Benigno believed that everyone deserved legal representation and was driven to prove himself in the courtroom. After leaving his position as an Associate Attorney, Benigno went into private practice and has since then focused on real estate and business law. He has also appeared as an actor in two movies and produced a Broadway show.

Benigno's experiences as a Legal Aid Attorney in the South Bronx inspired his first novel, The Good Lawyer, which was a #1 Bestseller. His second novel, The Criminal Lawyer, was inspired by real crimes that occurred on Long Island in 2010. His latest novel, The Criminal Mind, is a psychological thriller. Benigno's novels have been well-received by critics, with Kirkus Reviews calling The Criminal Lawyer a "surprising thriller" and The Good Lawyer a "smashing legal-thriller debut". The New York Post has also praised Benigno's writing, stating that he "blends his knowledge and experiences as a trial lawyer with a hardhitting, literary style".
