Tillie Cole is a bestselling author known for her work in the romance, chick-lit, and young adult genres. She was born and raised in Teesside, in Northern England, and was surrounded by English and Scottish influences growing up. Cole's mother was a farmer's daughter who enjoyed cultivating English roses, while her father was Scottish and known for his foul-mouthed episodes of rage and love of dirty jokes. Cole has a sister and grew up surrounded by rescue horses and animals.
Cole earned her B.A. with honors in Religious Studies from Newcastle University and later returned for her post-graduate certificate in Teaching High School Studies. After teaching Social Studies for six years and following her husband, a professional rugby player, around Europe, the couple settled in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Cole's love for both English and Scottish culture is evident in her appreciation for Yorkshire Puddings and HP Sauce, as well as her fiery temperament.
In addition to her love of reading and writing, Cole has been involved in the theatre community from a young age and enjoys cheerleading, dance, drama, and singing. She can often be found in nightclubs around the world imitating her favorite artists or at the theatre, dressed in a maid's outfit and sporting red lipstick, while attending a performance of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Cole is married to a professional rugby player and, after years of traveling, the couple has settled in Calgary, Alberta, where Cole spends her days lost in a writing euphoria or pursuing her dream of becoming a barrel-racing, tasseled-chap wearing, Stetson-sporting cowgirl.
