Tim Downs

Tim Downs is an accomplished American author, known for his works in crime fiction and Christian relationships. He was born in 1954 and graduated from Indiana University in 1976, where he became a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After his graduation, Downs created a daily comic strip called Downstown, which was syndicated by Universal Press Syndicate for six years. The strip was published in over a hundred daily newspapers worldwide, alongside other popular comics such as The Far Side, Calvin & Hobbes, and Doonesbury.

In addition to his comic strip, Downs has written several books about Christian relationships and seven mystery/suspense novels. His Bug Man series, which features forensic entomologist Dr. Nick Polchak, is particularly popular. PlagueMaker, one of the books in this series, won the Christy Award for the best CBA mystery/suspense novel of 2006. Less than Dead, another book in the series, was a finalist for the 2009 Christian Book Award in suspense fiction. Downs' writing is well-regarded in the industry, and his work continues to captivate readers.

Tim Downs is not only a successful author but also a speaker and communication consultant. He co-hosts the popular weekly podcast, The Communication Guys. Downs and his wife Joy have three grown children and reside in Cary, North Carolina.
