Tim Hodkinson was born in Northern Ireland in 1971 and has been writing all his life. His interest in historical, mystical, and mysterious stories was informed by his childhood experiences of visiting castles and megaliths in Ireland with his parents. As a boy, he rode his bike to see the remnants of the Normans near his hometown of Lisburn, where he imagined heroic battles and formed the inspiration for some of his stories.
Hodkinson's love for historical fiction, particularly stories set in ancient times and the medieval period, deepened with his studies of Old Norse Literature, Medieval English, and Celtic civilization at university. His novels, including "Lions of the Grail," "The Waste Land," "The Savage Forest," "The Spear of Crom," and "The Undead," are set in various historical periods and locations, such as Medieval Ireland, Victorian Belfast, and the world of the Anglo-Saxons. These novels are available in print and Kindle format from Amazon.
In addition to his novels, Hodkinson has written short stories set in the world of the Anglo-Saxons, including "All the Kings Thanes" and "Beowulf's Return." He has also been inspired by Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" for his novel "The Undead."
Hodkinson was born in Northern Ireland and studied Medieval English and Old Norse Literature at University with a subsidiary in Medieval European History. After spending several years living in New Hampshire, USA, he has returned to Northern Ireland with his wife Trudy and three daughters. He is currently working on a series of Viking novels for Ares Fiction, an imprint of Head of Zeus.
