Tom Gillespie is a literary fiction author known for his novels and short fiction. His works have been published internationally in journals, e-zines, and anthologies such as "East of the Web," "Linden Literary Review," and "The Ogilvie." He also contributed to "The Federation of Writers, Scotland New Voices Anthology" and the horror anthology "Fear: An Anthology of Horror and Terror." His debut novel, "The Strange Book of Jacob Boyce," is the first installment in a trilogy set in his hometown of Glasgow and was published by Vine Leaves Press. Additionally, his collaborative short story collection, "Glass Work Humans," was released in late 2020.
Gillespie's writing is characterized by its minimalist, hyper-realistic style, often described as ambiguous and terse. Born in a small town outside Glasgow, he pursued a master's degree in English at Glasgow University before embarking on a decade-long career as a singer-songwriter, touring Europe and the UK with his band. A creative polymath, he transitioned into writing and now balances his literary pursuits with a role as an English lecturer at a university. He resides in Bath with his wife, daughter, and their neurotic cat.
