Tom Harper is a renowned author who writes under the pen name of Edwin Thomas. He is known for his expertise in historical fiction and thriller novels. Harper was born in Frankfurt, West Germany, and spent his formative years in Belgium and Connecticut. His love for history led him to study the subject at Lincoln College Oxford. After working for a few years, he decided to pursue his passion for writing and entered the CWA Debut Dagger contest, where he was recognized as a runner-up.
Harper's writing career took off in 2003 with the publication of his debut novel, "The Blighted Cliffs," which he wrote under his original name, Edwin Thomas. His first novel under the pseudonym, "The Mosaic of Shadows," was published in 2004. Since then, he has written eleven historical thriller novels, all of which have been translated into twenty foreign languages worldwide. He is the author of the Martin Jerrold and Demetrios Askiates series, as well as several standalone novels.
Harper currently resides in York, England, with his wife and two sons. He is an active member of the Crime Writers' Association, the Historical Novels Society, and the Society of Authors. In addition to writing under the name Tom Harper, he also writes historical adventures as Edwin Thomas.
