Tom Percival

Tom Percival is a renowned children's fiction author and illustrator, best known for his work on the "Skulduggery Pleasant" series. Percival has made a significant impact in the children's literature world, with his books being nominated for prestigious awards such as the Greenaway award. His talents, however, are not limited to the "Skulduggery Pleasant" series; he has also authored and illustrated more than a dozen picture books.

Percival grew up in a remote and beautiful part of South Shropshire in a caravan without electricity, mains water, or heating. This unique upbringing shaped his interests and passions, ultimately leading him to develop his love for writing and drawing. Despite the challenges of his childhood, Percival has fond memories of his early years and the role that literature played in his life. He credits the Tim and the Hidden People series by Sheila McCullagh, which featured a magical cat called Tobias, as one of his earliest inspirations.

Percival now lives in an actual house in Gloucestershire with his partner, their two children, and a dog named Luna. He has produced covers for the Skulduggery Pleasant series and a host of other books, and has written and illustrated many picture books, including "Tobias and the Super Spooky Ghost Book," "A Home for Mr Tipps," "Jack's AMAZING Shadow," and "Herman's Letter." Percival's works are beloved by children and parents alike, and his unique style and storytelling abilities have made him a standout figure in the world of children's literature.
