Trevor Noah is a highly accomplished South African television host, comedian, actor, political commentator, producer, and writer. He is best known for hosting the satirical news program The Daily Show on Comedy Central. Born in Johannesburg, Trevor began his career in 2002, working in various fields as an actor, television host, and comedian. He has hosted several programs for the SABC and has appeared in late-night talk shows in the US. In 2014, he was chosen as The Daily Show's Senior International Correspondent.
As a writer, Trevor has achieved critical acclaim for his comedy book Born a Crime, which is also his autobiography. The book provides a fascinating and honest perspective on South Africa's racial history and has won several awards, including the Thurber Prize for American Humor and two NAACP Image Awards. The Audible edition of Born a Crime, performed by Trevor, is one of the top-selling, highest-rated, and most-commented-on Audible performances of all time. Trevor's production company, Day Zero Productions, recently partnered with Viacom and has several projects in development, including the feature film adaptation of Born a Crime.
In addition to his work in entertainment, Trevor is also dedicated to giving back to his community. In 2018, he launched The Trevor Noah Foundation, a youth development initiative that enhances youth preparedness for higher education or entry into the workforce. The foundation provides under-resourced schools with the opportunity to use technology as a tool to enhance the learning experience and increase digital literacy beyond the classroom. Trevor's vision is to create a South Africa that advances because each generation builds and grows beyond its predecessor.
